The world of technology is ever-changing and constantly evolving. That means that the tricks we use to work on our laptops and PCs are constantly changing, too. It can be difficult to stay on top of all the tips and tricks for working on your computers.
Lucky for you We’ve compiled several of the latest and greatest tips that you can use to make your life easier! Check them out below:
1. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL on Windows or CMD + Shift + Esc on Mac to open your Task Manager. Then use the Processes tab to find all of the processes running on your computer that you don’t need. This will help you clear up some space on your memory so you can run your program without lagging or crashing.
2. Use Dropbox. Dropbox allows you to sync your files across all of your devices and instantly access them from anywhere you go. If you leave your laptop at home but need to work from home for a bit you can access the files you need from your phone or tablet right inside the Dropbox app!
3. Download a program like Google Chrome Remote Desktop to view and control another computer remotely from your own device. This will allow you to access your files while you are on the go! Be sure to keep these helpful tips in mind as you work on your computer in the future!
4. Open an internet browser and go to Google.com/Chrome/DesktopShortcuts. Here you will see a list of programs you can download to make viewing Chrome easier. You can download different launchers and even custom wallpapers to decorate your new browser interface!
5. The menu bar in Firefox can be cumbersome to navigate, so try using a shortcut menu instead. To take a screenshot just press Print Screen on your keyboard. Then open Paint or another graphics program and select the Paste button. You can then crop your image and save it to your drive or email it to yourself! This is a great way to share files and images with other users via email. You can also press the Windows key + print screen (prt scr) on your keyboard to take instant screenshots if using Windows OS.
6. Keep your laptop free of viruses and malware by running a thorough virus scan every now and then. Windows Defender will defend against most viruses and Trojans, but you can also download anti-malware programs like Bit-defender Antivirus Free Edition or AVG Antivirus Free Edition to protect yourself against more harmful viruses. You can also install a free firewall to prevent hackers from accessing your information and blocking out unsolicited pop-up ads!
7. If you are using Windows 10 you might notice that it tends to get a little slow over time. To optimize your performance try restarting your computer once in a while to get rid of any leftover data that might be slowing it down.
8. Have a hard time remembering passwords? You can use LastPass to create a secure password vault and then log in to websites with a single click! LastPass is free and easy to use on any device!
